The Ministry of Care, also called our "Network of Caring" is a pyramid phone network. The purposes of this service are:
- To express love, care, and support to SEC members and family members in time of need.
- To ensure that all SEC members know who to call in the event of illness, hospitalization, death, need of assistance, vacation plans, or to hear a friendly voice.
- To relay messages of illness, death, or needs to the Ministry of Care chairperson.
- To establish and maintain stronger bonds between Ministry of Care group leaders and members of their groups.
The Ministry of Care divides SEC members into groups of 12-15 individuals. Each group is assigned a group leader. In the event of a death, illness, etc., Judy Thompson, the Ministry of Care Chairperson (and Practitioner) is contacted by an SEC member directly, or through Reverend Ron or another Practitioner. Judy then activates the phone network by phoning the eight group leaders. The group leaders, in turn, phone the 12-15 SEC members in their group. The result is that 80-100 SEC members are aware of your circumstance to offer their love, support, care, and/or service.
