The SEC bookstore is so much more than just a lovely place to pick up a terrific book. Our Bookstore Coordinator, Ms. Gherrie Routzahn, worked in the retail field with her husband for many years before establishing our beautiful and well-stocked bookstore in 2000. Starting with just the original Ernest Holmes' selections, she initially added core New Thought books, such as those from authors Raymond Charles Barker and Eric Butterworth.
Next, she added Religious Science jewelry, then CDs, DVDs, calendars, unique greeting cards and gift certificates. Gherrie says she's constantly trying to keep up with the prolific New Age topics that are on the best seller list. She welcomes people from other churches to come in and browse and enjoy a free cup of coffee. The bookstore now has seven well-stocked bookcases, a large table full of CDs and other audio selections, and two cases of jewelry and angel items.
Hours of the bookstore are from 9:00 a.m. until noon every Sunday. Purchases can also be made from 9am - 3pm, Monday through Thursday when Sandy, the SEC Secretary is on duty. Please call in advance - (623) 972-3205.
Other bookstore volunteers are Jane Bushor, Sue Gray, Jo Lindquist Sybenga, Vicky Miller, and Judy Thompson - all avid readers who are happy to help you make your selections.
